Katrina began training to become a Pilates instructor in 2013, shortly after relocating to Austin from Brooklyn, NY. She successfully completed the Balanced Body Pilates Comprehensive Program in 2015. This program requires at least 500 hours of teaching, observation, anatomy and classroom hours as well as final written and practical exams to be considered fully qualified to teach Mat, Reformer, Tower, Chair and Barrels. Katrina was drawn to Balanced Body's respectful approach to teaching the work of Joseph Pilates. She loves the classical repertoire and enjoys the challenge of tailoring it to each client.

In 2016 Katrina completed the Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates Specialist Course offered by the Women's Center for Fitness. The birth of her daughter sparked her passion to teach Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates. Taught with respect to the ever changing body of a mother, sessions focus on releasing and strengthening the whole body including the pelvic floor and deep abdominals. She is also trained in Diastasis Recti Recovery.

As an instructor, Katrina loves teaching the principles of movement and encourages clients to apply them outside of the studio, because understanding why an exercise is done is as important as learning how to do it. She takes time to demonstrate, explain, and correct form and alignment. She enjoys getting to know her clients as much as she does teaching them.

Outside of the studio, Katrina enjoys hanging out with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
